Moving with the Cloud
In last month's issue of the Transformer Enewsletter, I introduced two words: change and transition. We discussed how different change is from transition. Many of you undoubtedly discovered that you have been in transition for some time but didn't know quite how to express it. Transition precedes destiny, so you must ensure you make the transition properly. You need correct knowledge and a sincere desire to "end up where the puck is." In fact, let's change this to "moving with the cloud," (Exodus 13-14). Perhaps that will assist you in gaining a better spiritual understanding of this dialogue. So, let's talk about this clichéd and often misunderstood word, Destiny. Destiny is a word that God has placed in us. The real key to destiny is discerning the activity of God in your life and His invitation to you to join Him in what He is about to do. For example, consider some of the heroes in the Bible. How did Nehemiah get into the Bible? It wasn't the fact that he fulfilled a personal prophecy. It was that God wanted to build a wall around Jerusalem and Nehemiah was the one who responded to God's invitation to join Him in what He was about to do. How about Joshua? What made him so special? It was that God was bringing His people into the Promised Land and had prepared somebody to lead them. Joshua responded to the invitation of God to cross over into the Promised Land. Had Joshua failed, there was another man named Caleb who was ready to do it. What was God doing when Moses was summoned? It wasn't his personal destiny although you could say that; the greater context is God had decided to deliver His people out of Egypt. Do you see the trend? In other words, the real grid that you use to discern what God is inviting you into is, "what is the activity of God in your generation and how is He inviting you to join Him in what He is about to do?" But before we discuss where the cloud is moving, let's talk about how you are wired.
Jeremiah 1:5 and 29:11 proclaims that God knew you before you were born and that He had an intended purpose for you. What's more, Ecclesiastes 3:11 says God has placed eternity in man's heart. The literal meaning of that Scripture is, "He has placed purpose in each individual's DNA." Perhaps you've never read the Amplified Version of John 3:27, "John answered, A man can receive nothing [he can claim nothing, he can take unto himself nothing] except as it has been granted to him from heaven. [A man must be content to receive the gift which is given him from heaven; there is no other source.]" Let's put this together. You have a particular set of skills that were inherently placed in you by Almighty God and according to Jeremiah and also Acts 17:26 (Amplified Version) it was for a predestined place and period of time. In other words, God decided who He needed on planet earth and at what time. Are any bells going off yet? Perhaps you are beginning to understand your boredom and frustration. You should not have a place of employment (the world can't pay you what you are worth) but rather a place of deployment where you are manifesting your gifts according to God's divine plan for you and this earth. Now, I think we can finally discuss where the cloud is moving.
The MESSAGE TRANSLATION of Psalms 82:1-6 expresses a sad indictment against God's elect. It says, "God calls the judges into his courtroom, he puts all the judges in the dock. Enough! You've corrupted justice long enough; you've let the wicked get away with murder. You're here to defend the defenseless, to make sure that underdogs get a fair break; Your job is to stand up for the powerless, and prosecute all those who exploit them." Ignorant judges! Head-in-the-sand judges! They haven't a clue to what's going on. And now everything's falling apart, the world's coming unglued. "I commissioned you judges, each one of you, deputies of the High God, But, you've betrayed your commission and now you're stripped of your rank, busted." Ooh wee, that's loaded. If I may paraphrase, He is saying, "How long are you going to allow this mess to go on in your nation, community, or backyard? You are made in My image and likeness, heck; I've called you gods and called you to rule on my behalf. I hate injustice and I expect you to do something about it." And as the trinity muses over this, He SHH (shakes His head).
Such a time as this:
It is clear that God knew of a time where injustice would be great in the earth, but that in His infinite wisdom would already have a people in position to address it. At least this was His expectation. People, this is not conjecture. Check out Luke 17. In it we read a prophetic word of a time when atrocities will become so appalling (globally) it would seem that the world was going to hell in a hand basket. But the author explains that when all of these negative things begin to happen to look up; not to look at the situation at face value, but to consider what God is doing. He says these things are going to create for "you" an opportunity to do what you are destined to do. In other words, it is going to create a platform for you to step on so you can testify. What is your testimony? "I am the solution to this world's problem-I am wired for it." Isaiah also prophesied of this moment. He said gross darkness would face the earth "but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising" (Isa 60:2-3). How many ways can I say this? You are the solution to the world's problems. All creation has been waiting for this moment of time for you to deliver it out of its demise. My my! Let's put handles on this. Common to every nation are seven support structures or pillars (Proverbs 9:1), often referred to as "7 Mountains" (Isa 2:1-2). They are: Family, Religion, Education, Arts & Entertainment, Media, Government, and Business. And this is what Psalms 82 was referencing; each of these domains is out of whack. Yet, God's people not only have the proclivity to manifest God in all of these sectors, they are expected to. But until you hear the sound you are hearing now or have your eyes opened, you will continue to build Pharaoh's city and get paid pennies when God had intended all along for your gifts to make room for you. Why continue to work to earn a living instead of living to fulfill destiny which will bring you more wealth (which, incidentally, includes more than money) than you ever dreamed of? God hates injustice. Let me give you an example.
A couple of months ago I was listening to a National Public Radio expose on California's "Three Strikes law."
This photo depicts Ulsula Thomas, her 18 year old daughter and her granddaughter. Ulsula was sentenced to state prison 17 years ago on a third strike of stealing clothes from a department store. She was in her early 20s when she was sentenced to state prison for life under California's "Three Strikes" law. She is 42 years old now, but her mother, her 18-year-old daughter and her granddaughter have not seen her since she left. The trigger that sent her to prison was stealing clothes worth about $150 from Mervyns. Her prior strikes were armed burglary, though allegedly she was only armed with a screwdriver. The Public Defender's Office has tried unsuccessfully to have her sentence reduced.
What's equally alarming is there are nearly 700 people doing 25 years to life for simple drug possession, 385 for shop lifting and 180 for receiving stolen property. Why, because it was their third strike.
This is atrocious especially when you consider the amount of revenue it costs to house these individuals and the overcrowding that is happening (as pictured here). Come on, they are people too. My point is, this, and many other problems facing our penal system, is injustice and God has graced some believer who has proximity, i.e., is perhaps already in the prison system (government) or has a gift and passion for this area but has not been activated because he/she has not heard the sound. The only sound we have heard is to come to church, pay our tithes and offerings, sing a few worship songs, hear the Word, and "come out from among them." While we're singing "I am a friend of God, "God is saying, "yes you are, now go do something about what is on my heart," and quite frankly what's been on your heart.
For many of you, your greatest gift may not be miraculous limbs popping out of sleeveless arms or eyeballs forming in sockets. Your gift may be to create an economic change in a community that has poverty spirits ruling over it or overturning the pre-dominant evil in a place which is infested with gangs and violence and intimidation. The spheres that God is inviting us into are far more vast and broad than our imaginations have entertained. But I'll tell you where they are entertained. They are entertained in the daydreams and the desires of your youth until they were emasculated by a spiritual circumcision in the name of Christianity. At one time, you had dreams. Perhaps, they were of singing, talking, writing, acting, or doing something. But a religious spirit cuts off a dream in order to sanctify the dreamer. This is why the youth are the impulse of the future; they haven't yet learned to fully reject their dreams. The dream; the vision; the re-occurring thought that comes to you at the end of the day is the desire of your heart. What you haven't known is that God gives you the desire, because it is of the Father. De is Latin for "of" and Sire for "Father." That means that desire is from your Father and this is where the cloud is moving for you. So, what are the dreams that you have in the spheres that God wants you to go back and see again with kingdom eyes? If you don't dream again, the drought prevails in that sphere.
For all of the religious folk, this is not a "kingdom now" doctrine where I am suggesting that the whole world is going to get better before Jesus returns and we present Him a perfect world as gift; of course not. But we can make a mark in this world before He returns that cannot be erased and you are graced to do it. Otherwise, that powerful "blessing" on every believer would be a waste. And that's all I'm going to say about that.
Okay, take a deep breath. The sign of a truly successful man or woman is one who hears and obeys. What do you do next? Just listen and whatever the Father tells you to do, do it. And if you don't already have a copy of our book, Personal Mastery, the Believer's Road Map to Destiny, purchase it. It will assist you in processing this information more precisely.
My next issue will deal with "What's the Church Got to do with it?" We must get this church stuff right. Many of you are “in church” out of religious tradition, or out of church because of some bad religious experience. As my husband says, when you get a bad haircut, you don't stop going to the barber, you simply change barbers. God has graced a particular man or woman of God to lead you in the Promised Land. Stay tuned....
